The Camp for Climate Action will be on public land at Wickham Park, on the corner of Maitland Road and Albert Street, Wickham, NSW.

Co-organising transport

If you're part of a neighbourhood in your area, it will be easier for you to arrange transport among yourselves than to mediate it through this website. You are welcome though, to create a forum topic advertising a lift you're offering or looking for. Check the forums page for messages already posted or to start a new topic. Of course, you can always just make your own way to the camp and find a neighbourhood when you get there.

Travelling by train

• If travelling by Cityrail train on the Hunter-Newcastle or Sydney-Newcastle lines, get off at Hamilton Station.
• If travelling by Countrylink (interstate) train, get off at Broadmeadow, and catch a connecting train to Hamilton.
• From Hamilton Station, turn right onto Beaumont Street (the main road past the station), and follow it about 170 metres to the T-intersection with Maitland Road.
• Turn right onto Maitland Road, and follow it for about 300 metres.
• Look left. There it is!

By road from Sydney

• Travel north along the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway.
• Take the Newcastle exit, and continue along the Newcastle Link Road until it terminates at a roundabout (approx. 7km).
• Go straight through the roundabout onto Thomas Street, and about 1.5km to the next roundabout.
• Turn right onto Newcastle Road, and follow it for about 7km to you come to the corner of Beaumont Street in Hamilton, turn left onto Beaumont Street.
• Follow Beaumont Street for about 350 metres til it comes to a T-intersection with Maitland Road.
• Turn right onto Maitland Road. Climate Camp is 300 metres up the road, look for signs.

By road from Northern NSW

• Travel south along the Pacific Highway, until it meets the New England Highway over the bridge at Hexham, near Newcastle.
• Turn left, towards Newcastle (still on the Pacific Highway).
• After about 7km you come to a set of traffic lights. Turn left onto Industrial Drive.
• Follow Industrial Drive for about 6.5km, til you get to the second roundabout
• Turn Right onto Branch Street, and then Right again onto Albert St
• Follow Albert St for about 700 metres and turn left onto Maitland Road
• Climate Camp is 300 metres up the road, look for signs.

By road from North Western NSW or the Hunter/New England region

• Make your way to the New England Highway, and follow it south-east towards Newcastle.
• When the New England Highway meets the Pacific Highway at Hexham, turn right onto the Pacific.
• After about 7km you come to a set of traffic lights. Turn left onto Industrial Drive.
• Follow Industrial Drive for about 6.5km, til you get to the second roundabout
• Turn Right onto Branch Street, and then Right again onto Albert St
• Follow Albert St for about 700 metres and turn left onto Maitland Road
• Climate Camp is 300 metres up the road, look for signs.
